At any conference where there are exhibitors, its always great to see the new and creative ways in which companies attract people to the booth. This year at the eZ Conference, some of the highlights included the IBM/VisionWT/WebDeal booth where they put their booth space together and made one large area equipped with two luxury massage chairs and a flat screen TV with targeted messaging. The Nexus booth was giving out free pizza from Dolly Dimples. The eZ booth was by far the sexiest with bar tables and stools, sleek graphics and a booth staff that was friendly and informative.

Who would have thought that a small town in the south of Norway would host the biggest open source content management event in Europe? Well its true, the weather is perfect here in Skien, Norway and the attendees are definitely enjoying the quaint Norwegian city. Getting here was quite the feat, as the closest airport was 45 minutes away. The scenery on the way to Skien was spectacular and made it all worth the trip. The best part of having an international conference in a small town like Skien is that the conference really gets that personal feeling, a feeling that is hard to find, and harder to maintain in a big, bustling major city

Tonight, at the eZ Awards 2007 Presentation, Paul Forsyth, Technical Director of Vision With Technology, UK was presented the most prestigious award of the evening. The Honorary award is a yearly award and Paul definitely deserved to win it this year based on his contribution to the eZ Ecosystem. Paul fit the criteria perfectly based on his long standing membership with eZ and his admirable conduct and example to his peers. The Norwegian IT Minister gave Paul his award in front of 800 eZ enthusiasts.
